Use 8x8 Meet with the Outlook plug-in
8x8 Work for Outlook allows 8x8 Work users to create, view, and manage 8x8 meetings from within Microsoft Outlook. Users can choose from a wide variety of email servers to connect with Outlook, and send email invitations for 8x8 meetings from any connected address.
Important: In order for 8x8 Microsoft Integration to function, ensure that you are using the appropriate plug-ins:
-Download version 6.0 of the plug-ins for meetings with Outlook and calling with Outlook .
Limitations
At this time, the following are not available in 8x8 Work for Outlook:
- The ability to start an instant meeting without scheduling
- The ability to view a list of your upcoming 8x8 meetings from the 8x8 menu
- Compatibility with Mac
Use the Outlook plug-in
In this version of 8x8 Work for Outlook, you can:
When you install the plug-in and open Outlook, a new 8x8 menu appears in the Home ribbon of your Outlook Mail and Calendar .
Click the menu to:
- Log in to the plug-in to access integration features.
- Access settings for dialing out and recording debug logs.
- View the web help for the plug-in.
- Send feedback on the plug-in to 8x8.
- Check for updates to the plug-in.
- View which version of the plug-in you are running.
- Open your Calendar in Microsoft Outlook.
- In the calendar, right-click the day you want your meeting to take place. A drop-down menu opens.
- From the drop-down, select New Meeting Request. A window opens in which you can schedule the meeting and invite participants.

In the meeting window, click Add 8x8 Meeting to attach 8x8 Meet capability to the Outlook calendar event, and provide meeting details to participants.
Note: If you are using the 8x8 Work for Outlook plug-in and have not logged in to the plug-in yet, you are prompted to log in with your usual 8x8 credentials when you try to create or delete 8x8 meetings.
- Enter additional meeting details, invite participants, and select the time and duration of the meeting.

To save the meeting and send invitations to participants, click Send. If you synced 8x8 Work for Desktop with your Outlook calendar, you see your Outlook meetings under Meetings > My Meetings for future use.
Note: If you synced 8x8 Work for Desktop with a calendar other than Outlook, meetings scheduled in Outlook do not display in 8x8 Work for Desktop. To view meetings scheduled in Outlook, go to Settings > Calendar for meetings in 8x8 Work, delete any other synchronized calendars, and re-synchronize with Outlook.
- Open your Calendar in Microsoft Outlook.
- In the calendar, double-click the desired meeting. A window opens in which you can review information to join the meeting.
- In the meeting window, to join the meeting, you can find:
- The link to join instantly via 8x8 Work; click to launch the meeting in 8x8 Work for Desktop or, if you don't have the app installed, via your browser.
- A one-tap dial-in phone number to join via mobile audio; tap from your mobile device to join quickly while on the go.
- Domestic and international dial-in phone numbers that have been assigned to the meeting. To dial in, call the desired number, and enter the appended numeric passcode as needed.
- The option to join without audio if you are also dialing in via conference phone for audio.
- Open your Calendar in Microsoft Outlook.
- In the calendar, right-click the day you want your meeting to take place. A drop-down menu opens.
- From the drop-down, select Cancel Meeting. A window opens in which you can delete the meeting.
- In the meeting window, click Send Cancellation to notify participants that the meeting is canceled.
- Open your Outlook Mail or Calendar , and open the Home ribbon.
- Open the 8x8 menu.
- From the menu, select Send Feedback to open a window in which you can send feedback.
- In the feedback window:
- Select the type of feedback you would like to send.
- If applicable, enter the URL of the meeting related to your feedback.
- Enter a suggestion, or describe an issue.
- Once you are finished, click Send feedback to send your feedback and a debug log to 8x8. A confirmation pops up when your feedback is successfully sent.
