Subscription and user management

Note: Subscriptions and the ability to assign subscriptions to users are only available to 8x8 partners and their customers.

Overview

8x8 partners and their customers with admin permissions have full self-service control over subscriptions. As a partner, you can instantly add or remove unified communications products anytime — no support ticket required. Choose from calling plans, meetings, messaging, and more. With usage-based billing, you only pay for what you use. This model simplifies service management and improves agility, flexibility, cost transparency, and efficiency.

  • Self-service portal: Manage accounts, licenses, and subscriptions effortlessly.
  • Subscription per product: Each product is delivered as its own subscription, allowing fine-grained assignment per user.
  • Transparency: You can view a user's active subscriptions, reducing confusion and supporting accurate billing.
  • Flexible billing and usage: Pay for what you use. Subscriptions can be added and removed at will by the 8x8 partners and their customers with admin permissions. You are only billed when a subscription is assigned to a user or service. Billing stops when the subscription is removed from a user.

Requirements for 8x8 partners

  • Access to the 8x8 Partner portal.
  • Access to 8x8 Admin Console.

To activate your customer’s subscriptions, 8x8 partners must:

  1. Create the new customer in 8x8 Partner portal (if applicable).
  2. Select what you want to provision (i.e. Digital Services, Equipment, and/or Professional Services).
  3. Place an order to allocate exactly the resources your customer needs. These settings determine which products are assigned to the customer, and in what quantity. Subscriptions are then assigned to users in the 8x8 Admin Console. For more information on assigning subscriptions to users, see How to assign subscriptions to users.
