Set up Meeting

8x8 Meet with 8x8 Work combines flexible communication capabilities with powerfully collaborative meetings. With 8x8 Meet, take your team meetings to the next level via integration with calendar apps, high-definition audio and video, advanced meeting management features, and much more!

Meeting URLs used for 8x8 Meet are based off the name of your organization; set an easy-to-remember base URL for your entire organization, and then select the default behavior of people's individual meeting URLs.

To set up your organization's meeting URLs for 8x8 Meet:

  1. From the main menu in 8x8 Admin Console, go to Meetings > Settings.
  2. In the Settings page, Under Tenant name, enter your organization's Meeting URL tenant. For example, a tenant of "dtna30dem" results in a base URL of "8x8.vc/dtna30dem/" for users in your organization.
  3. Under Meeting URLs, confirm the default meeting URL behavior when a member of your organization schedules a meeting in their calendar:
    • 8x8.vc/domain/firstname.lastname: All scheduled meetings use the same URL as the person's own personal meeting space (such as "8x8.vc/acmejets/mel.black").
    • 8x8.vc/domain/firstname.lastname/xyz: Scheduled meetings use the person's personal meeting space URL as a base, but each meeting URL ends with three randomized alphanumeric characters (such as "8x8.vc/acmejets/mel.black/d20").
  4. Under Moderated meetings, set up how the user will moderate meetings. Switch the All meetings will be moderated only by participants from this company toggle On. Otherwise, switch the toggle Off.
  5. Under Join before Moderator, set up which can moderate the meetings. Switch the A moderator is required to start a meeting toggle On. Otherwise, switch the toggle Off.

  6. Under Meeting launch, set up if only the moderator can launch the meeting. Switch the A moderator is required to start a meeting toggle On. Otherwise, switch the toggle Off.

  7. Under Meetings reactions, set up if users can react in meetings. Switch the Enable the Giphy integration in the meeting reactions menu toggle On. Otherwise, switch the toggle Off.

  8. Save your changes.
