Create and Manage Personal Contacts

Let's say you want to keep track of contacts you communicate with outside of your company directory, and would like to have them available for quick access. To easily organize and call numbers outside of your company directory, you can create personal contacts that are visible only to you, and can be edited and deleted as needed from under the Contacts tab.

To create personal contacts:

  1. Go to Contacts > My Contacts.
  2. Click the New Contact icon, and select Add new contact to start creating a new contact.
  3. Enter the contact details.
  4. When you are finished, save your changes. The personal contact now shows up under Contacts > My Contacts.

To create personal contacts from call logs under the Calls tab:

  1. Open the Calls tab.
  2. Select Calls to view all inbound, outbound, and missed calls.
    OR
    Select Missed to view all missed calls.
  3. Hover over the desired contact, and then click the More icon that appears to open a drop-down menu.
  4. From the drop-down, select Create new contact to start creating a new contact; the number and Caller ID (if one exists) are automatically filled in.
  5. Enter the contact details.
  6. When you are finished, save your changes. The personal contact now shows up under Contacts > My Contacts.

To create personal contacts from voicemails under the Calls tab:

  1. Go to Calls > Voicemails.
  2. Hover over the desired contact, and then click the More icon that appears to open a drop-down menu.
  3. From the drop-down, select Create new contact to start creating a new contact; the number and Caller ID (if one exists) are automatically filled in.
  4. Enter the contact details.
  5. When you are finished, save your changes. The personal contact now shows up under Contacts > My Contacts.

To create personal contacts from chats under the Messages tab:

  1. Open the Messages tab.
  2. In the All or 1-1 sub-tabs, hover over the desired chat with an external contact, and then click the More icon that appears to open a drop-down menu.
  3. From the drop-down, select Create new contact to start creating a new contact; the number and Caller ID (if one exists) are automatically filled in.
  4. Enter the contact details.
  5. When you are finished, save your changes. The personal contact now shows up under Contacts > My Contacts.

To edit personal contacts:

  1. Go to Contacts > My Contacts.
  2. Hover over the desired contact, and then click the More icon that appears to open a drop-down menu.
  3. From the drop-down, select Edit to edit the contact details.
  4. Make the desired changes.
  5. When you are finished, save your changes.

To delete personal contacts:

  1. Go to Contacts > My Contacts.
  2. Hover over the desired contact, and then click the More icon that appears to open a drop-down menu.
  3. From the drop-down, select Delete to delete the contact.
