Virtual Office Softphone lets you use your computer to Accept or Decline incoming calls to your 8x8 extension. When you decline an incoming call, it is automatically directed to your voicemail.
On receiving an incoming call, the Virtual Office Softphone panel automatically slides out. If the calling contact has set up a profile picture, the softphone panel displays the picture.
Click Accept on an incoming call, and begin speaking to the caller.
If you are on another call when you accept an incoming call, your first call is put on hold.
Click to open the dialpad, if necessary.
The Virtual Office desktop app remembers whether you last opened or closed the dialpad.
Click Decline on an incoming call.
The caller continues to hear ringing until the call is answered by voicemail.
You can add external callers to Contacts via the Phone tab.
You can choose how to handle calls that come in while you are too busy to answer the phone.
When you need some time to finish a project, put your telephone in a state that does not ring. Calls are automatically forwarded to your voicemail, or given a busy signal if voicemail is turned off.
The Virtual Office desktop app lets you set your own rules for handling incoming calls using your Call Forwarding features.
For details on call forwarding rules, refer to Configure Call Forwarding.
