Use the Softphone-Only Mode

To better integrate with applications that provide contact directories with messaging and presence visibility, you have the option of using the softphone-only mode of the Virtual Office desktop app. If your company uses both 8x8 Virtual Office and an existing unified communcations service, you can request the softphone-only mode of the Virtual Office desktop app, and retain the call management capabilities of the application.

The softphone-only mode can be configured per user, or for all users in a phone system.

Note: To enable the softphone-only mode of the Virtual Office desktop app, please contact 8x8 Support.
