Sort, Filter, and Group Contacts

To access contacts quickly, you can sort, filter, and group your contacts. To access the Sort by and Filter by menus, click in the Contacts tab to access the drop-down menu.

Sort Contacts

You can sort contacts by first name, last name, and presence status, and group them by their department, location, etc. By default, contacts are sorted alphabetically by first name. You can change the following settings from the Sort by menu:

To sort contacts:

  1. In the Contacts tab, click to open the drop-down menu.
  2. From the drop-down, select Sort by.
  3. Select one of the following options. You can sort by:

Note: Your phone system administrator defines the grouping tags.

Filter Contacts

You can filter contacts by company, department, location, etc.

To filter contacts:

  1. In the Contacts tab, click to open the drop-down menu.
  2. From the drop-down, select Filter by.
  3. Select one of the following options. You can filter by:

Groups by company, personal, and imported contacts. Your phone system administrator determines whether you have access to additional custom fields. The choices in the menu vary based on your imported contacts. If you have imported contacts from other supported accounts, you will see the following options:

Note: Both company and personal contacts are enabled by default.
