Set New Forwarding Rules

Apart from setting default rules for call forwarding, the 8x8 Work for Desktop allows you to specify custom rules to block or forward calls from certain numbers.

  1. Click Add New Rule.
  2. Click the Call From tab.
  3. Select the Anyone check box.
  4. Click Ok.
  5. Click Save.

  2. Clear the Anyone check box, if selected.
  3. Select the Any of the phone numbers listed below check box to set specific phone numbers.
  4. Enter area codes or phone numbers as desired.
  5. Select the Blocked/Anonymous Callers check box to filter anonymous callers.
  6. Click Ok.
  7. Click Save.
  1. Click the Date and Time tab.
  2. Select Anytime.
  3. Click Ok.
  4. Click Save.
  1. Click the Date and Time tab.
  2. Select Specified date/time period.
  3. Enter your start and end date and time.
  4. Click Ok.
  5. Click Save.
  1. Click the Date and Time tab.
  2. Select Recurring schedule.
  3. Select the days of the week for the schedule.
    By default, 8 AM to 5 PM is selected for Monday through Friday.
  4. Enter your start and end date and time.
  5. Click Ok.
  6. Click Save.
  1. Click the Forward to tab.
  2. Select Drop Call.
  3. Click Ok.
  4. Click Save.
  1. Click the Forward to tab.
  2. Select Forward Calls to.
  3. Enter phone number.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Click Ok.
  6. Click to delete the phone number.
  7. Click Save.
  1. Click the Forward to tab.
  2. Select Forward Calls to.
  3. Enter phone number.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Enter how long your phone must ring before moving on to the next phone number.
  6. Enter next number.
  7. Choose to forward calls to these numbers simultaneously or sequentially.
  8. If you select sequential forwarding, you can prioritize your list by entering numbers in the Order column.
  9. Click Ok.
  10. Click Save.
  1. Click the Forward to tab.
  2. Select Forward Calls to.
  3. Enter phone number.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Click Password Required if you want to enter your voicemail password before picking up your call.
  6. Click Ok.
  7. Click Save.
  1. On the description panel, check the Enable Call Screening check box.
    This allows you to ask callers to announce their names before the call is put through, giving you the option to answer or not.
  2. Click Ok.
  3. Click Save.
  1. Click the Forward to tab.
  2. Click the After trying to reach all of the phone numbers above, forward callsdrop-down menu.
  3. Select either Voicemail, Auto Attendant, Ring Group, Call Queue, or Other.
    Your call queues and auto attendants need to be set up before you can forward to them.
  4. Click Ok.
  5. Click Save.
