About AI Studio
AI Studio is an AI-powered automation tool available in the 8x8 App Store within the 8x8 Admin Console. It enables you to create AI agents that handle voice calls, messaging conversations, and workflows automatically, reducing manual work for your team.
You define agent behavior and goals using natural language instructions with the help of the built-in AI Builder. The Builder helps you create, configure, and manage agents by generating prompts, building tools, writing webhooks, and guiding you through setup tasks. Agents can use tools to perform actions such as routing calls, retrieving information, creating tickets, or integrating with external systems. 8x8 AI Studio supports both conversational automation and structured workflows, allowing you to build solutions that range from simple interactions to complex, multi-step processes.
Built on the 8x8 platform, AI Studio's agents connect directly to your configured communication channels such as phone numbers and messaging systems. Interactions can be triggered by inbound calls, messages, or external systems through webhooks. The platform then routes the interaction to an agent, which processes the request, executes actions as needed, and logs the interaction for monitoring and optimization.

- Access to the 8x8 App Store in 8x8 Admin Console: Required to install 8x8 AI Studio.

- Agent management permissions: Required to create and manage AI agents.
- (Optional) Access to external systems: API credentials are needed to enable integrations with external tools.
